Vision
Hey North Ridge! I continue to be amazed at the reach that God has given us in our community and I am thankful for all that God has shown us together in the Planted series. When we take the step of surrender and obedience together, we will find ourselves becoming part of a movement of God’s people who are accomplishing God’s purpose; a city within a city.
The thing about movement is that things rarely stay the same. I remember riding in the back of my parents car trying to focus on objects as we zipped past them. Of course it was nearly impossible trying to attach my eyes to any one thing and the scenery was just a blur. Eventually I would settle back in my seat and look out the front window and see a much clearer picture of where we were going.
In the days ahead there will be much change. In fact, there will always be change. If we spend our time trying to hold on to things we see pass by, we will loose sight of where we are going. As you know, the facility in which we meet is up for sale. Rest assured that your Pastors and Elders are spending the appropriate amount of time investigating our options and seeking God’s plan. We are confident that God will either provide us a way to keep our current location or make a way to a new one.
“It is amazing what can be accomplished when we wait on God to lead. It is equally amazing the mess we can make of things when we charge out on our own.” – Andy Stanley, Visioneering
God’s plan is not dependent on us making something happen. It is dependent on God making something happen. Jesus said it this way: “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
Stay focused on where we are going. A people who function as a city within a city for the sake of the city. God’s work done in God’s way, in God’s time, is always successful, and it always points back to the source: God.
